French GCE A-level

Our course is designed for students who wish to succeed in the GCE A-level French; a qualification suitable for students who wish to enter UK universities. The preparation for the GCE A-level offers students who have already a good understanding of French, the opportunity to develop their language skills. Moreover an intensive course can be tailor made to the student’s needs.

Intensive Courses French

We offer intensive courses to students who both want to succeed at the DELF / DALF exams, and attain a deeper understanding of the French culture.

French Supplementary Teaching

We offer Supplementary Private Tuition at all levels. Our aim is to help students improve their understanding of French so that they can succeed at their exams.

DELF / DALF

At IAS we teach French to both young and mature students. We prepare our students for the internationally recognized diplomas of French as a foreign language – DELF (Diploma of French Language Studies) / DALF (Diploma of complete knowledge of the French language). There are six levels:

For students who wish to study in French universities the objective is to obtain the B2 DELF diploma. However, in some French universities a student can be accepted with a B1 DELF diploma.

Pancyprian exams 

Pancyprian exams are both an integral part of the Apolytirion and a necessary qualification for a student’s admission to the higher educational institutions of Greece and Cyprus. IAS aims to offer complete tutelage of the material for the Pancyprian exams, assisting students in fully comprehending the material, while also developing their critical and creative skills. Our aim is to motivate students in order to reach their potential.

B’ Lyceum

Literature modules of B’ Lyceum are exceptionally important in one’s prepararation for the Pancyprian Exams. Thorough understanding of the curriculum is a prerequisite for students who wish to excel at the end of year exams as well as the Pancyprian exams. We will develop their broad study skills and their methodology to argue critically the issues raised. At IAS we believe that a deep understanding in any subject is the only way for a student to progress and excel academically.μαθητές.

Academic Writing

The main purpose of this course is to prepare students for university level writing assignments by reviewing their English grammar and strengthening their writing skills. It also provides a working space whereby students work together, share their writing experiences and give and receive feedback. Overall the students are engaged in a constructive process which eventually will allow them to perceive themselves as writers. By the end of this course, students will be able to obtain proficiency in the use of English grammar, master writing mechanics, utilize writing techniques, use lexical and orthographic elements, explore the full spectrum of the writing process, and master proper diction and language use appropriate for an academic setting. Some examples of what the curriculum includes are: Constructing complex sentences, writing topic sentences, writing supporting sentences, concluding sentences, using transition words, learning the comma rules, avoiding sentence fragments or run on sentences.
