The Physics A level is recommended for students who want to develop their problem solving skills or planning to study any subjects in which the skill is relevant (engineering, mathematics, etc.) There are two options for those who choose Physics at the A Level:
International: 2 year course, exams available in January and June, normally taken in June, at the end of each year (2 sittings). This A level can be taken by all students.
Units:
AS:
- P1 – Mechanics, Materials
- P2 – Waves, Electricity, Light
- P3 – Theoretical alternative to practical examinations
A2:
- P4 – Mechanics (2), Electric & Magnetic Fields, Capacitors, Particle Physics
- P5 – Thermal, Radioactivity, SHM, Astrophysics
- P6 – Theoretical alternative to practical examinations
Linear: 2 year course, exams at the end of two years. This A level can only be taken by students whose school provides it.

- P3 – Synoptic Paper
- P4 – Practical examination, internally assessed.
